Two figures
2020
oil paint and gesso on plywood
610cm x 405cm
For this painting, I've used oil paint on ply wood to capture two figures emerging within a confine space. I wanted to deconstruct the female and male figure by blocking out each varying shape by using a different colour- with the aim to form a fluid yet structural ambiguity between the two integrating figures. Inspired by intimate moments shared with my partner, I wanted to highlight this moment within history as being isolating however familiar as I've been along side my partner - attributing this piece to him, who supported me through this bazaar period.
I'm a 20 year old Fine Art student studying at RMIT in Melbourne. My work is inspired heavily by what I read and who I meet.
